You dream of tilling the soil on a large plot out in the heartland, but you’re stuck in a concrete, neon-lit cubicle.

Start by planting a seed at the Common Good City Farm.

The popular urban farm and education center (Prince Charles stopped by during a recent trip) grows fresh fruit and veggies for low-income residents of the city; it also promotes environmental sustainability and healthy habits through educational programs. All of this is done with the help of volunteers like you.

Common Good City Farm wants you to get your hands dirty planting, harvesting, weeding, composting, collecting gardening tools, fundraising, and building outreach.

Register for orientation (the first Saturday of every month through September), sign up for specific times and tasks, then get to work. You can do it alone or gather a group together.

Then you’ll really blossom.
