The world was created in seven days. And you want to drag the wedding planning out for how long?
On the First Day
Eden was already booked, but they found awesome reception spaces with rooftop gardens (like a 19th-century WV sausage factory) and views (like a DUMBO warehouse) on par with nirvana’s.
On the Second Day
They made heavenly invitations from Mr. Boddington’s Studio (646-705-1944). They admired the new wedding collection and custom letterpress designs. Then they e-mailed Champion Stamp Co. (432 West 54th Street, 212-489-8130) for postage in their color scheme.
On the Third Day
They separated the light from the darkness of registries with the new Bottlenotes service that helps newlyweds start their wine cellar. They thanked the angels for guiding Aunt Madge away from the glass Adam and Eve statuette and toward the case of estate reds.
Evening came and they hosted an intimate engagement dinner at The Monday Room, adjacent to Public (210 Elizabeth Street, 212-343-7011). And it was good.
On the Fourth Day
They said, “Let us make some party images” and called Dave Robbins for photojournalistic shots and Christian Oth for lovely, ethereal portraits.
On the Fifth Day
She had the Jenny Packham dress (Bergdorf Goodman, 754 Fifth Avenue, 800-558-1855). And she made her own wedding ring (cinch). She threw a few surprises from the Honeymoon line at the new Miguelina boutique (347 Bleecker Street, 212-400-3100) into her after-party luggage.
On the Sixth Day
They let the earth put forth vegetation. And let Sarah Magid bake organic desserts. The dinner was organized by the almighty Leslie Russell for Marcey Brownstein, with hors d’ oeuvres divided by earth, land, and sea.
They ordered seals with their initials from Casey Rubber Stamps (322 East 11th Street, 917-669-4151) and branded everything in their paths, including homemade shortbread cookies as favors.
On the Seventh Day
They finished the vows, the champagne, and the cake. And then they rested. (In the Biblical sense.)
